From Scratch (in collaboration with eric mosheim)

2023

Trying to answer the question “how can we build from the most basic, raw level”, Eric and I made a chair with all materials produced “from scratch”. By utilizing this thinking process, we as makers were able to completely control the lifecycle and the source of every material used.

We created a paper pulp composite to simulate the characteristics of wood, and felted together raw wool roving and milkweed seed fiber to serve as a modular cushion.
While Eric worked on the pulp composite, I created the visual and graphic identity, including posters, promotional materials, and a full field guide. I also used a wet felting process to create the wool roving and milkweed applique.
