Underlay
2022
Underlay is an app that fosters open communication between adolescents and their caretakers.
Through the use of expressive typography and intimate interaction, Underlay opens closed doors and activates difficult conversation. It lightens the weight of a burden.
This project is a full build out of a conceptual app. It included market research + analysis, problem definition, branding, feature + user definition, visual strategy, and user experience.

Execution
A round and bouncy type choice, with jolts of playfulness within counters and a variety of weights to establish clear hierarchy. Low contrast to evoke stability.
High contrast type choice allowing for readability in experimentation and copy. Serious, but approachable.
User Journey — Transparency and honesty reflected in the UI, with open shapes and energetic pauses
Interaction Storyboard — Sensitive + haptic feedback to the user
Palette — soft + balanced with a POP!
